KlimatGIS (2009-2011)

The "KlimatGIS" project, aiming to develop a web based GIS-service that will make basic data for decision- making available within climate changing issues and other climate related questions for municipalities, researchers and other players.

Today, these players are lacking efficient processes for the adaptation and implementation of geographical information within their organisation, and wish to include it into their decision-making process in urban planning and climate change issues. There is an urgent need for innovative processes to find the existing synergies between the participating players as well as to create a framework that will clarify the roles and responsibilities.

This project will increase the knowledge and the usage of GIS as well as develop user friendly tools for an efficient climate change adaptation, analysis and the visualization of consequences within climate change.

Urban planning portal design, Colombia 2005-2008

Design methodology to create an urban planning portal financed by SIDA (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency). The GIS portal will increase the availability of geographical information and analysis in order to promote urban planning and use of natural resources. More than 40 municipalities are participating in the project with information and maps.
